Account Receivable
The restructuring of the debts and arrears of the power sector has been completed. Reform measures aim at improving its operational efficiency, financial viability, and regulatory environment, and the corporate governance structure within sector utilities.
To improve the availability and the efficiency of the sector government adopts a financial action plan; maintain power sector arrears at not more than 3 months of receivables. Reduce receivables from autonomous, public entities and private customers to an acceptable limit. Arrears in the power sector have been reduced from 8.75 equivalent months in June 2000 to 2.04 months by end June 2014 as a result of financial action plan; The Government continuously monitors the arrears to prevent further growth of new arrears.
